Working in concert with the Shift Supervisor, the Residential Aide provides general assistance and support to clients residing at the sanctuary site

THIS IS A TEMPORARY POSITION
Working in concert with the Shift Supervisor, provides general assistance and support to clients residing at the Sanctuary NYC site and regularly monitors the safety and security of clients located throughout the facility.
THIS IS A MEN'S SITE
POSITION DESCRIPTION:
  • Providing direct assistance, support and care to clients residing in the shelter.
  • Complete Initial intakes and provide a tour.
  • Conduct wellness check to ensure that all clients are safe and report any abnormalities.
  • Conduct hourly rounds and log the outcome of the event.
  • Conduct room inspection to ensure that clients units are safe and free of hazardous conditions.
  • Complete work orders and conduct follow-ups.
  • Remove any contraband and complete reports.
  • Write occurrence and incident reports when deemed necessary.
  • Support and assist in enforcing shelter rules and regulations.
  • Sorting and distributing client's mails.
  • Serves as a Liaison to the current atmosphere in the facility.
  • Report incidents, accidents and client concerns immediately via occurrence/incident reports.
  • Collaborate with monthly fire drills and report outcomes on your assigned lead.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours when needed.
  • Attend mandatory meetings and participate in trainings as directed by the supervisor.
  • Manages CARE, the DHS database,
  • Comply with all DHS Absorb trainings as scheduled by DHS.
  • Able to lift about 50 pounds of weight, bend and climb stairs.

Requirements
  • Ability to speak/write the English language
  • High School Diploma or Equivalency
  • CPR/First Aide Certificate Required

Preferred Requirements
  • Food Handler's Certificate
  • NARCAN Certificate
  • HHA/CAN or other medical training
  • Bilingual Spanish highly preferred
