Division Security Officer Duties

As a Division Security Officer, your typical work assignments may include:

  1. Serving as the technical expert that administers and maintains continuing responsibility and management of the Personnel Security Program by implementing DEA and local policies and procedures.
  2. Serving as the liaison for security related matters with other federal agencies or organizations (e.g., GSA, DHS, DoS, etc.).
  3. Processing requests for clearance/access, changes to position sensitivity designation, and investigations.
  4. Planning, developing, coordinating and implementing appropriate physical security/crime prevention programs and policies for the Division.
  5. Serving as the subject matter expert, responsible for the information security, COMSEC requirements, and compliance of all Division offices.
  6. Conducting physical security inspections of facilities.
