THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.
This National Guard position is for a COMPUTER ASSISTANT (T32), Position Description Number D1074000 and is part of the AL AASF 3, National Guard.
ORGANIZATION: AL AASF 3, MOBILE, AL
SELECTING OFFICIAL: MAJ M. WESTQualifications:MILITARY REQUIREMENTS: This is an excepted service position that requires membership in a compatible military grade in the Alabama Army National Guard. Applicants who are not currently a member of the Alabama Army National Guard must be eligible for immediate membership. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, please contact an Alabama Army National Guard recruiter at 800-464-8273 prior to applying for this position.
MAXIMUM MILITARY RANK: CW3
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Each applicant must fully substantiate (in his/her own words) that he/she meets the requirements of the Specialized Experience listed below: Otherwise, the applicant will be considered unqualified for this position. DO NOT COPY THE VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT OR THE POSITION DESCRIPTION. DOING SO MAY RESULT IN DISQUALIFICATION FOR THE POSITION.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, training, or education which demonstrates the applicant's ability to follow directions, procedures, or systematic work methods which gives evidence of the candidate's ability to perform this work. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: 1 year equivalent to at least next lower grade level.
KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
-- Detailed knowledge of ULLS-A systems, hardware and software, and how they interconnect in and between normal, variable, and different operating conditions and systems (DOD, MSDOS, etc) in the AASF and AVCRAD to accomplish duties.
-- Extensive knowledge of computer equipment, internal computer processes, and application and utility programs.
-- Knowledge of a wide range of analytical and diagnostic methods, procedures, and principles to identify system failures, take corrective actions to resume normal operations, and implement procedures to allow for partial use until problems are resolved.
-- Knowledge of the codes, abbreviations and terms used in the ULLS-A system program and the order needed to acquire, interpret and resolve problems based on information derived from ULLS-A system reports.
-- Knowledge of job priorities, rules and scheduling procedures in order to align and adjust schedules in accordance with functional program priorities when work schedules are re-aligned.
-- Skill and knowledge to independently apply DoD, Army, NGB, and local policies, standards, and directives to perform analysis, to evaluate the automated information systems requirements, and offer assistance and guidance to those who receive informational products.
-- Knowledge of a wide range of current automated information systems, data automation, and information technology concepts, methods, techniques, and procedures. This includes Army, NGB, and commercial off-the-shelf systems technology.
-- Knowledge of AASF missions, objectives, terminology, and management practices in the facility, NGB, and the DA to recognize probable areas of interaction and overlap between proposed and existing system requirements.Education:Generally, not applicable.Employment Type: OTHER
