Job description

Job Summary: 

The Team Lead is responsible for supervision within an assigned department(s). The position provides leadership and guidance to other departmental associates, while maintaining sales and/or customer service. The Team Lead will assist the Department Manager directly with ensuring daily tasks such as pricing, merchandising, inventory control, housekeeping, etc are performed timely and efficiently. A professional position requiring a higher level of knowledge within their assigned department(s) and general knowledge of the building and home improvement industry. Requires personal skills such as communication, technical skills such as quoting and computer knowledge.

Qualifications:

  1. Education: Basic education which includes ability to competently read and write.
  2. Training and Experience: Experience in selling/serving customers and building materials knowledge, limited typing and key punch skills; exceptional customer service and communication skills required.
  3. Job Knowledge: Should have general knowledge of the building industry, detailed knowledge of assigned department(s).
  4. Physical Demands: Work requires some physical effort; involves standing, much walking and medium lifting.  Works in an air-conditioned environments well as non-A/C controlled environment.  (Important: This job is classified in the physical demands section of the job description [Form IV-31] as constant medium work and occasional heavy work.)
