Summary of Position
Assist students at the Fort Polk CTC facility to include providing computer and classroom assistance.
Education and Experience
High School diploma or GED required.
Two years wage earning clerical experience OR certification/successful completion of 30 credit hours towards degree required.
Knowledge Skills and Ability
  • Ability to work without extensive supervision.
  • Able to interact effectively with the public and all levels of employees.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of all information.
  • Must be detail-oriented and adjust well to a changing environment.
  • Must have computer skills with ability to use MS Word, MS Excel, and Student Information System.
  • Good listening and verbal skills.
  • Willing to provide assistance by giving courteous attention and direction.
Essential Functions
  • Serve as backup for front desk, duties include: providing information and basic computer-related information for prospective and current students.
  • Monitor computer lab use and ensure proper operation of lab equipment.
  • Ensure all lab equipment is functioning properly at all times.
  • Handle basic troubleshooting of computers and peripheral equipment.
  • Keep lab clean and orderly.
  • Open and close computer lab and classrooms according to schedule. Ensure building security and report deficiencies to supervisor.
  • Install printer cartridges and stock printers with paper. Assist instructors with instructional aids and supplies.
  • Direct students to the appropriate classrooms and coordinate classroom changes, if necessary.
  • Other duties assigned by Site Director- Fort Polk.
