Summary/Objective:

The CAD Technician is capable of working within a dynamic group to meet project goals and timelines. The person in this position must be well organized, detail oriented, and have the flexibility to handle multiple project assignments. 

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Duties and Responsibilities:

Essential Functions:

  1. Create/Update part and assembly CAD data using SolidWorks
  2. Create/Update part and assembly drawings to identify critical characteristics
  3. Work with manufacturing engineering to ensure parts are manufacturable
  4. Process change actions utilizing Enovia
  5. Designs and drawings must be free from errors
  6. Ensure changes are implement according to customer needs

Other Key Responsibilities

  1. Must be able to review customer prints and identify changes.
  2. Determine if any new parts are required to meet customer expectations.
  3. Work with customers to manage part proliferation
  4. Document and process all changes using Lippert change management processes.

Working Conditions:

  • Primarily working indoors, office environment.
  • May sit for several hours at a time.
  • Prolonged exposure to computer screens.
  • Repetitive use of hands to operate computers, printers, and copiers.

Qualifications:

  1. High school diploma and/or related associates degree in engineering or specific discipline and two years’ experience; or
  2. Four years related experience and/or training specialized in drafting, design, and engineering practices; or
  3. Equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
  4. Preferred experience in the garment/ residential furniture, automotive or marine seating systems
  5. Ability to read and interpret documents.
  6. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The Team Member may have to lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position, and the expected work hours are 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday; weekend work is also necessary on occasion.
