Job description

Objective: The Computer Technician is responsible for maintaining, and troubleshooting most hardware, software, mobility devices, and network systems. The position requires help desk support skills.

Responsibilities/Expectations:
Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software
  • Install, configure and upgrade computer hardware, peripherals, and software.
  • Diagnose, repair and maintain hardware, peripherals and software systems.
  • Provide technical help desk support to coworkers with all company sponsored technology.
  • Support network-based systems: VoIP phones, MDM devices, print services.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on all technology equipment.
  • Maintain up-to-date accurate records for inventory and repair/maintenance work.
  • Inform Network Manager of all technology related problems and issues.
  • Make recommendations for the IT budget including upgrades, repair, and replacements.
  • Work with Network Administrator to coordinate service contract with outside vendors.
  • Perform other relevant duties as identified that support the mission and vision of Team Cone.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of Windows 11 Pro operating systems.
  • Knowledge of computer hardware and peripherals is essential.
  • Basic knowledge of educational and business software applications.
  • Knowledge of Office365, MFA, and Azure basics.
  • Knowledge of basic networking concepts, structure, devices and security.
  • Ability to maintain inventory of IT assets and perform data backups, and support ticket resolutions.
  • Ability to work with people. User support is essential.
  • Ability to work independently in solving problems and troubleshooting.

Job Goal: The Computer (IT) Technician responds to and will be the first level of support for all technology hardware, software, mobile and network related problems.

Education Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent plus two years of education required.
  • Certifications and/or two years' experience in either technology repair, network design, security, infrastructure, or security required.
  • CompTIA A+, MCSE, or AS/AA Computer Science technology degree is desired.
