A Day in the Life

As an CAD Designer (Technologist), in our Calgary or Edmonton office you'll be responsible for assisting multiple projects where you will have increasing interaction with our multi-disciplinary staff, regulatory agencies and clients. You will be part of a strong team of committed professionals.

The compensation range for this role is $31.00 to $55.00, commensurate with experience, skills, and geographic location.

To thrive in this role, you'll be comfortable taking ownership of the following responsibilities:

  • We are growing our CAD team and looking for a Civil CAD Technologist with 2+ years of experience. We welcome a range of candidates who want todevelop theirskillsand take ownership of quality design work in water resources and civil infrastructure.

  • Prepare clear,accurateCAD drawings in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Worktypesinclude stormwater, erosion and sediment control, municipal infrastructure,riverandchannel design.

  • Build surfaces, alignments, profiles,sections,corridors,grading plans,and 3D models from survey data, LiDAR, and field inputs.

  • Produce plan, profile, and cross-section drawings for design and construction packages.

  • Interpret survey data, field notes, UAV imagery, and site photography to support design and as-built deliverables.

  • Complete material take-offstosupport quantity and cost estimates.

  • Perform QA/QC on drawings. Keep work clean, consistent, and aligned with CAD standards.

  • Coordinate with engineers, scientists, surveyors, and clients to keep projects moving.

  • Help improve CAD standards, workflows, and efficiency.

  • Share knowledge and support junior team members in a practical, team-first way.

Your Expertise and Skills

  • A diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Technology or a related field.

  • 2+ years of CAD or civil design experience, ideally in consulting.

  • Strongproficiencyin AutoCAD Civil 3D.

  • Interest or experience in water resources, municipal, or environmental projects.

  • Careful work habits and strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage several tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Clear, direct communication and a collaborative mindset.

Special consideration will be given to candidates with one or more of the following:
  • Field experience (survey, construction support, or site work)and a valid Class 5 driver's licence and willingness to travel for field work when needed.

  • Erosion and sediment control experience.

  • Experience with PCSWMM or similar stormwater modelling tools.

  • Experience with Global Mapper.
