Summary

Analyze business systems and design databases and programs for computer applications. Code, test, and debug databases/ programs based upon user specifications. Develop and maintain reports according to user requests and specifications.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Analyze business systems and design databases/programs for computer applications. Code, test and debug databases/programs based upon user specifications. Prepare necessary testing environments and test data for testing programming logic and for obtaining final user acceptance and approvals prior to implementation.
  2. Develop and maintain reports according to user requests and specifications.
  3. Create and maintain necessary development documentation which includes (but may not be limited to) system diagrams/flowcharts, user specification requirements, programming logic documentation, data dictionaries and testing procedures with results.
  4. Perform implementation and end-user usage training for databases/programs developed by internal programming staff.
  5. Participate in the definition and maintenance of standards for database and programming development, change control, backup routines, and system and programming documentation.
  6. Obtain continuous education in latest programming/database tools.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of the principles, practices, and techniques of computer programming and systems analysis; of mathematics; of computer operations procedures and systems; and of computer programming languages, including applied knowledge of Microsoft Office products, VB .Net, SQL, and Crystal Reports.

Ability to process information logically; to design programs and systems logic; to prepare program specifications; to code, test and debug computer programs; to interpret technical information relating to computer programming and other areas of data processing; to perform mathematical calculations; and to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical individuals.

Must be able to communicate and work well with end-users.
