Description
The CAD Drafter will create detailed schematics that are utilized in the manufacturing of products and the construction of buildings. This position will need to have extremely strong computer skills, great communication skills and a team player to work within our Engineering Department. Employee must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks efficiently.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
โ€ข Coordinate the collection of data and incorporate this information into drawings, schematics and maps.
โ€ข Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using computer aided design (CAD).
โ€ข Collect construction site reports, analyze building codes and make weight, volume and stress calculations for the materials to be used. May also lay out interiors, draw landscape and represent the architect at the construction site.
โ€ข Create and incorporate mathematical formulas to create component specifications and reproduce their schematics for use within RFM reference materials, such as operations manuals.
โ€ข Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.
โ€ข Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.

Qualified candidate must:
โ€ข Utilize computer-aided design systems to create technical drawings for building construction and product manufacturing
โ€ข Fill out drawings with specifications, methods and codes.
โ€ข Has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job.
โ€ข Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function.
โ€ข Typically requires 3-5 years of related experience, or may have 2 years of experience plus an associate degree, or additional training or certification.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
Physical Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. This is largely a deskbound role with many hours of computer/digital screen work; however, filing, correlating, reproduction and binding materials are required. This would require the ability to lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand on a stool, climb stairs as necessary.
Position Type / Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time contract position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m.
