Job description

Sigma Defense is seeking a General Engineering Technician to join our team in Huntsville, AL.

Requirements

  • 2-4 years of experience in 12v/24v electrical wiring.
  • Proven experience with PCB assembly, soldering techniques, and surface mount technology (SMT).
  • Strong understanding of schematics, electrical wiring, and mechanical assembly processes.
  • Mechanical knowledge combined with electrical experience is highly desirable.
  • Experience reading electrical drawings.
  • Experience in a production/manufacturing setting.
  • Must be able to lift 50 - 75 lbs.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Computer Programs/Software:

  • Microsoft Office Suite.

Personnel Clearance Level:

  • Candidate must possess or have the ability to obtain an active Secret security clearance or higher.
  • A clearance will not be sponsored.

Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma (or equivalent).
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.

Essential Job Duties (not all-inclusive):

  • Manufacturing and assembling cables and wire harnesses.
  • Assembling/wiring electrical box assemblies.
  • Cable management and wire routing through cable trays or conduit.
  • Regular use of soldering iron, wire cutter/stripper/crimper, hand tools, power tools, digital multi-meter, and calipers.
  • Installation of electrical components in racks, cabinets, boxes, etc.
  • Diagnose and fix electrical issues.
  • Assist with equipment design modifications, including fabrication, and testing.

Pay Range: $24 - $28 per hour.
