• Conduct initial assessments to evaluate the mental health status of clients through various methods such as interviews and standardized tools.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that outline goals, therapies, and strategies tailored to meeting the unique needs of each client.
• Facilitate regular therapy sessions—both individual and group—equipping clients with coping strategies, therapeutic exercises, and emotional support.
• Monitor clients' progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly, while documenting all interactions meticulously in our EHR system.
• Provide referrals to additional resources and specialists, such as psychiatrists and community support services, when necessary.
• Engage in continuous professional development, staying informed on the latest trends and techniques in mental health therapy and treatment modalities.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the overall effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Southcoast Counseling Services, you will encounter a diverse clientele, including individuals grappling with depression, anxiety, substance abuse, trauma, and eating disorders. We emphasize a culturally responsive approach, ensuring clients from various backgrounds receive support that acknowledges their unique experiences. Your ability to communicate effectively with clients from diverse demographics will be critical in creating a safe space conducive to healing and growth.

• A master’s or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• Current and valid license as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in the state of California.
• A minimum of four years of relevant clinical experience working with diverse patient populations.
• Strong knowledge of mental health disorders, evidence-based treatment models, and culturally sensitive therapy practices.
• Proficient in conducting both individual and group therapy sessions, with a focus on inclusive and respectful methodologies.

• Demonstrated effectiveness in crisis intervention, with the ability to manage high-pressure situations gracefully.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective rapport-building with clients and collaboration with colleagues.
• Competency in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and various computer applications essential for maintaining patient records and documentation.
• Commitment to ethical guidelines, maintaining professional boundaries, and ensuring client confidentiality at all times.
• Collaborative experience within a multidisciplinary team setting, positively impacting client outcomes.
