Job Summary:
Nova Biomedical is a global leader in biotechnology and in vitro diagnostic instrumentation, committed to advancing patient care and scientific discovery. They are seeking a Senior Computer Vision/ML Software Engineer to support Research & Systems Engineering by facilitating the research, design, and deployment of machine learning and artificial intelligence models for their product portfolio.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design and lead innovative AI projects from beginning to end and provide technical guidance to other team members.
โ€ข Be able to assist in the breakdown of new AI features into actionable work items, and work with the team to
โ€ข Estimate the time and complexity involved them.
โ€ข Produce coherent and concise technical documentation of AI-based projects, providing summaries and evidence of
โ€ข work completed.
โ€ข Manage AI model codebases from research to production level.
โ€ข Communicate with other teams (Systems, Software Development team) to perform team tasks more effectively.
โ€ข Contribute to the creation and filing of patents to protect intellectual property generated through research
โ€ข efforts, working closely with legal and intellectual property teams as necessary.
โ€ข Implement state-of-the-art AI and ML models and evaluate performance with regards to key business objectives,

Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข Strong Python/C++ coding ability.
โ€ข Strong experience in ONNX model and Microsoft ML interface.
โ€ข Strong image processing knowledge.
โ€ข Ability to readily absorb complex bioinformatic concepts.
โ€ข Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
โ€ข Strong knowledge of the biotech industry with a focus on cell development practices.
โ€ข Deep knowledge of convolutional models and latest techniques.
โ€ข Proficiency in major deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, Yolo, CellPose).
โ€ข MSc or higher in CompSci, Mathematics, Physics, AI, Computational Biology or any other relevant quantitative discipline, OR equivalent masterโ€™s level work experience delivering AI/ML solutions.
โ€ข 2+ years of experience applying ML/AI to microscope images or biological problems.
โ€ข 3-4 years of experience with any of the major deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, Yolo, CellPose).
โ€ข Demonstrable industry experience of delivering computer vision-based AI projects (preferably in biotech).
