The Systems Frameworks team within Apple’s Vision Products Group (VPG) is seeking a passionate software engineer to assist in the implementation of a foundational component for the next generation of algorithms that power the operating system
In this role, you will collaborate with both algorithm and low-level system framework teams to develop systems that support a diverse range of use cases in a performant and memory-efficient manner.
Description
As a member of the systems framework team, you’d be expected to contribute to the architecture and implementation of key pieces of foundational system frameworks. The work includes investigating and understanding existing frameworks and how they function and interact with the rest of the system, building prototypes to prove out that certain concepts work, creating proposals and getting buy-in from cross-functional partners and leaders, and driving high-quality performant implementation of the shipping product. BS degree in Computer Science or similar and/or equivalent experience/skills
4+ years of experience
Knowledge of operating systems fundamentals
Strong proficiency in C/C++
Strong analytical and debugging skills
Understanding of basic computer vision and machine learning concepts
Familiarity with Gen AI coding tools. Demonstrated ability to use them for design, code generation, and debugging
Pay & Benefits
At Apple, base pay is one part of our total compensation package and is determined within a range. This provides the opportunity to progress as you grow and develop within a role. The base pay range for this role is between $171,600 and $302,200, and your base pay will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
Apple employees also have the opportunity to become an Apple shareholder through participation in Apple's discretionary employee stock programs. Apple employees are eligible for discretionary restricted stock unit awards, and can purchase Apple stock at a discount if voluntarily participating in Apple's Employee Stock Purchase Plan. You'll also receive benefits including: Comprehensive medical and dental coverage, retirement benefits, a range of discounted products and free services, and for formal education related to advancing your career at Apple, reimbursement for certain educational expenses - including tuition.
