Growing Independent Building Material and Design Company
Zuern Building Products is a family-owned and operated building material supplier and design company. We take pride in our tradition of providing high quality building materials and valuable services to our customers. We are "Building on Service".
We are currently looking for the right person to join our Custom Cabinet and Millwork team at our Menomonee Falls location as a Cabinet Vision Engineer (CNC Programmer). This is a full-time opportunity with a Monday through Friday schedule.
Requirements
Summary: Plans numerical control program to control contour path machining of wood parts on automatic machine tools by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Learn, use and understand Epicor BisTrack Software.
  • Work with our material purchasing team to facilitate on time and accurate purchase orders.
  • Review Cabinet Vision drawings and related files submitted by designers and prepare them for manufacturing.
  • Work on process/Cabinet Vision improvement projects including producing additional assemblies, review, organize and add to current assembly catalogue.
  • Be the main liaison between design process and manufacturing. Answer questions that arise on how to construct cabinets, projects, Etc.
  • Problem solve design challenges and maintain quality control for design staff.
  • Perform virtual or physical trial runs to ensure proper programs and processes are run.
  • Studies blueprints or drawings of articles to be constructed or repaired, and plans sequence of cutting or shaping operations to be performed.
  • Evaluates and determines the feasibility of producing the design concept.
  • Integrates findings with knowledge of cabinetry design, construction applications, appliance specifications and building codes into the creation of cabinet design layout or concept.
  • Renders design ideas, estimates material requirements and costs and presents design to client/customer and/or builder/remodeler for approval.
  • Confers with Manager to determine the content, time limitations, production schedule and fabrication.
  • Prepares or directs preparation of prints containing manufacturing specifications, such as dimensions, species of wood, and added amenities to be used in manufacturing.
  • Designs and prepares detailed drawings of cabinetry, fixtures and decorative details required to be used in production.

Qualifications:
  • 1-3 years of related experience or technical certification (or equivalent combination)
  • Proficiency in CabinetVision, AutoCAD, and basic computer applications
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and technical documents
  • Strong understanding of cabinet construction, materials, and basic building practices
  • Ability to create take-offs and support project pricing
  • Solid math skills, including working with measurements, fractions, and decimals
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to read a tape measure and understand units of measure
  • Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with teams
  • Knowledge of safety practices; ability to obtain forklift certification as needed
