Job description

Are you driven to build technology that directly contributes to our nation's security-and eager to apply machine learning and computer vision to solve complex, real-world intelligence challenges?
At Expedition Technology (EXP), we're developing advanced capabilities that empower the Intelligence Community and Department of Defense to analyze, fuse, and act on critical data in ways that matter. If you're motivated by meaningful impact, technical rigor, and working on hard problems alongside highly collaborative teams, we'd love to talk.
What you'll do:
As part of our team, you'll contribute to cutting-edge efforts where we're advancing AI/ML capabilities for geospatial intelligence, multi-modal data fusion, and hyperspectral imagery analysis. This is not purely theoretical work-you'll help refine and operationalize systems that are already in use, improving performance, scalability, and real-world applicability.
In this role, you will:
  • Develop and optimize machine learning and computer vision models, including support for hyperspectral imagery and multi-modal sensor data
  • Build algorithms for detection, tracking, and data fusion across complex datasets
  • Collaborate across small, multidisciplinary teams to translate research into deployable capabilities
  • Contribute to both algorithm development and software implementation, helping turn innovative approaches into mission-ready systems
  • Support solutions deployed across cloud and low size, weight, and power (SWaP) environments
You'll have the opportunity to work across multiple programs, applying your skills where they're most impactful while growing your expertise in new domains.
Who you are:
We're looking for engineers and researchers who are excited to work on challenging national security problems and want to contribute across both research and implementation. The ideal candidate brings:
  • Experience in machine learning, computer vision, or related AI/ML fields
  • Strong foundation in algorithm development and data-driven problem solving
  • Ability and willingness to write production-quality software in support of ML systems
  • Interest in working with geospatial, sensor, or hyperspectral data (experience is a plus, but not required)
  • A collaborative mindset and desire to contribute to a team where the whole is greater than the sum of its parts

Clearance
This role requires a Top Secret (TS) clearance and the ability to obtain SCI access. Candidates without an active SCI may still be considered and supported through the process. Candidates with an active TS/SCI are preferred.
Why EXP?
At EXP, you won't just build technology-you'll help shape solutions to some of the toughest challenges facing our nation. We value curiosity, ownership, and real innovation, and we're committed to creating an environment where talented engineers can make a measurable difference.

What do we offer our team?
Expedition Technology (EXP) offers a flexible, self-directed benefits package that is designed to fit your individual needs. Benefits include:
  • Company-paid, medical, dental and vision insurance
  • Up to 45 days of PTO
  • Up to 12% 401k contribution - Traditional and Roth options available
  • Student loan repayment assistance
  • Paid Family Leave
  • Tuition Reimbursement - $5250/year available
  • Referral bonus program
  • Free tickets to sporting events, theater, concerts and more
  • Free, onsite fitness center, onsite cafeteria with reduced-cost meals
  • A collaborative, creative and supportive culture where you will be encouraged to push boundaries, take risks and enjoy the rewards.

EXP is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer that believes a diverse range of talent creates an environment that fosters creativity and innovation. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age, disability, national origin, genetic information, or protected veteran status.
