Job Summary:
1872 Consulting is seeking a Senior Computer Vision Engineer to design and implement innovative computer vision solutions for satellite imagery analytics. The role involves conducting research, developing algorithms, and collaborating with teams throughout the project lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
โ€ข Design and implement computer vision solutions that exploit machine learning, statistical learning, and deep learning for next-generation satellite imagery analytics
โ€ข Plan and conduct research in projects related to computer vision, probabilistic modeling, predictive analytics, and content curation
โ€ข Develop and prototype algorithms, models, and analytical tools for solving domain specific business problems
โ€ข Take part in the entire project lifecycle from requirements development to deployment
โ€ข Collaborate with management and technical team on product strategy
Qualifications:
Required:
โ€ข 5+ years of hands-on experience as a computer vision engineer, machine learning engineer, or data scientist with at least 2 years focused on computer vision
โ€ข Bachelor's Degree or higher in one of the following fields: computer science, data science, mathematics, physics, statistics, or another computational field
โ€ข Python 3 proficiency
โ€ข Hands on experience working with large imagery data sets including image normalization, image augmentation, raster/vector visualization, etc.
โ€ข Experience developing deep learning-based software solutions. In particular, developing models in TensorFlow or PyTorch, and Keras
โ€ข Familiarity with open source python computer vision libraries such as Scikit-image, Rasterio, OpenCV, Pillow, Shapely, etc.
โ€ข Ability to create and follow standard software development processes and clearly document results
โ€ข Strong ability to communicate concepts and analytical results with customers, management, and the technical team, highlighting actionable insights
โ€ข US Citizenship Required
Preferred:
โ€ข 8+ years of hands-on experience as a computer vision engineer, machine learning engineer or data scientist
โ€ข Ph.D./Master's degree in the previously mentioned fields
โ€ข Current knowledge of research literature in computer vision
โ€ข Experience working with remote sensing data, ideally satellite imagery and an understanding of Geospatial software (GDAL, osgeo, etc.) and programming standards
โ€ข Familiarity researching and prototyping unsupervised and semi-supervised deep learning-based algorithms
โ€ข Experience developing asynchronous processing algorithms and Cloud-based solutions (especially AWS services like EC2 & S3)
