Job Title: Survey CAD Tech/Modeler
Location: Hinckley, OH (On-Site)
Duration: Full Time
Jos Description:
  • Developing detailed 2D & 3D models of various heavy civil projects using the latest CAD software.
  • Collaborate closely with Surveyors, Superintendents, Project Engineers, Estimators, and Project Managers to ensure accurate models and volumetric calculations that support project goals and objectives from bid creation through project final completion.

Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain detailed 2D & 3D models using CAD software such as Autodesk Civil 3D, Carlson Civil, or similar platforms.
  • Review plans, identify plan issues, and assist in the preparation of RFI documents.
  • Interpret design intent and if necessary, make design change recommendations.
  • Prepare quantity takeoff calculations and project quantity summaries for Estimating and/or the Project Management Team.
  • Maintain and update models throughout construction as field changes occur or RFI's are answered.
  • Provide quality assurance reviews of models provided by the owner's engineer.
  • Coordinate with survey teams to collect the existing project conditions and integrate it into the model data so that it can be ultimately used for field layout
  • Create and maintain project As-Builts, per project specifications, for the duration of the project.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, software updates, and best practices in heavy civil modeling.

Required:
  • Proven experience (typically 2-5+ years) as a 3D modeler specializing in Heavy Civil projects.
  • Proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, Carlson Civil, or equivalent CAD software
  • Strong understanding of Heavy Civil plans and specifications and the construction processes
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and survey data accurately.
  • Strongly self-motivated and able to work independently, plus meet project and deadlines.
  • Excellent attention to detail and highly technical problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Preferred:
  • Relevant certifications or training in CAD technologies or civil engineering, construction management, or surveying is a strong plus.
  • Carlson software knowledge a plus.
  • Bluebeam Review a plus.
