Manufacturing Engineer/Computer Technician

What to Expect
Job Summary
Support Manufacturing and Engineering by identifying and troubleshooting process, material, or equipment issues to minimize downtime and implement effective solutions. Develop, assemble, procure, and modify tooling, fixtures, and equipment to ensure efficient production methods and support manufacturing operations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The incumbent may be asked to perform other function-related activities in addition to the responsibilities listed below, as reasonably required by business needs.
• Maintain, test, calibrate, and repair production and prototype equipment, products, and related subassemblies according to specifications.
• Document test and repair results in collaboration with Operations and Engineering teams.
• Provide emergency and unscheduled repairs of production equipment, as well as perform scheduled preventive maintenance.
• Train technicians on the maintenance and calibration of production and prototype equipment.
• Report equipment failures through the NCE process, as applicable.
• Fabricate cables, PCBAs, and fixtures to support manufacturing operations and equipment needs.
• Execute verification protocols and prepare verification reports.
• Perform failure analysis investigations and document findings through the NCR process.
• Participate as a member of the Material Review Board (MRB), including responsibility for dispositioning components and detectors.
• Create and revise procedures, bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, test labor standards (TLS), and engineering change orders (ECOs) as directed by Engineering.
• Identify and implement process improvements and cost-saving initiatives.
• Collaborate effectively in a team environment to achieve quality, safety, and productivity goals.
• Work overtime as needed to support production schedules.
• Supervise the Manufacturing Engineering Lab.
• Mentor technicians in troubleshooting, testing instruments, and building test fixtures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

• Soldering skills preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
• Ability to perform complex testing operations and operate, maintain, and troubleshoot test equipment.

• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and software systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to mentor, train, and support other employees.
• IPC-A-610, IPC/WHMA-A-620, and IPC-7711/7721 certifications preferred.
Other preferred computer skills :
Run tests to see why a computer is slow or crashing.
Fix systems: Reinstall or update Windows and system drivers.
Save data: Backup drives on a regular preventive maintenance schedule.
Good problem-solving skills to trace strange error codes.
Education
• Associate's degree or technical certificate in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, Software Technology, or a related technical discipline.
Experience
• Minimum of five (5) years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Compensation
The annualized base salary range for this role is $58,100 to $87,200 and the position is eligible for an annual bonus.
Final compensation will depend on several factors, including relevant experience, skills, knowledge, geographic location, education, business needs, and market conditions.
