Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

The IT Supervisor will communicate positively with our internal users on how to best interact with and utilize technology,

providing support via face-to-face interaction, chat, email, and phone. Support will be provided both remotely and on-

site.

The IT Supervisor will collaborate with the IT System Administrator (ITSA) to resolve issues related to our infrastructure,

both internally hosted and cloud-based. This includes e-mail, printers, wired and wireless networks, internet service

providers (ISPs), video conferencing, and VPN connections. Working with the HR department and Plant Management,

this position will provide cell phones, workstations, and end-user accounts. While tracking and maintaining company IT

equipment inventory, the IT Supervisor will research innovative solutions to technical challenges and make

recommendations for equipment replacements &/or upgrades.

IT aims to maintain our technical facilities and capabilities of the highest standard through quality, detail-oriented artistry.

In addition to core tasks, completing other technical projects and assignments as needed.

  • Provide responsive, empathetic IT assistance to users (computer, monitor, printer, accessories)
  • Manage, update, and monitor the company's anti-virus/firewall system, software updates
  • Work with department managers/supervisors on production or department-specific software applications
  • Develop and maintain clear documentation for projects and infrastructure
  • Maintain desktop security through management of anti-virus and anti-spyware security systems
  • Track, prioritize, and manage applications and operating system patches locally or remotely
  • Configure, deploy, and maintain desktop and laptop computers
  • Provide new employee orientation on IT equipment, standards, and policies
  • Respond to and resolve general hardware and software issues
  • Perform user account creation and rights assignments
  • Configure and deploy telephones
  • Track and manage remote user laptops, projectors, and other equipment
  • Procurement & Budget Management: Source goods and services efficiently. Review purchase orders for accuracy. Track spending against the approved budget. Identify savings opportunities during purchasing cycles. Forecast costs for upcoming fiscal periods.
  • Vendor Management: Negotiate contracts for optimal pricing and terms. Evaluate performance using clear metrics and KPIs. Resolve disputes regarding delivery delays or quality. Maintain relationships with key suppliers and contractors.
  • Supervision & Help Desk Leadership: Lead daily help desk and procurement operations. Train staff on technical tools and workflows. Monitor tickets to ensure fast resolution times. Set goals and conduct regular performance reviews. Schedule coverage to maintain consistent support levels.

Requirements

Experience, Education, and Licensure/Certification Requirements:

  • Associate or Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Five years of IT experience in a business or government environment
  • Experienced & knowledgeable in MS Office/O365 suite software programs
  • Field experience installing and troubleshooting user and networking devices
  • Experience and knowledge of computer peripheral equipment
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex equipment &/or work with outside resources to facilitate quick repairs
  • Ability to communicate with both plant operators and general managers
  • An understanding of food manufacturing, including food safety, quality, and manufacturing concepts, is desired
  • Experience with Ubiquiti network equipment, Mitel phone system, and VMware preferred

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards, including meeting qualitative and/or quantitative productivity standards
  • Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
  • Ability to travel between various Hopsteiner locations as needed to provide support
