Information Technology Intern - Fall 2026
The mission of Easterseals Rehabilitation Center in Evansville, IN, is to make profound, positive differences in the lives of local people with disabilities every day, and to change the way our community defines and views disability.
Easterseals Rehabilitation Center is seeking an independent, self-motivated, and detail-oriented individual with a passion for Information Technology and customer service to join our current two-person IT team for the fall semester, August 31st to December 23rd.

To be eligible for an EARN Indiana internship, a student must:
  • Be an Indiana resident
  • File the FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid)
  • Be enrolled full-time or part-time at an eligible Indiana college or university and have a Student Aid Index (SAI) of no more than 24,570
    • SAI is based on the student's 2026-2027 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Not have a bachelor's degree prior to the term in which the student plans to work
  • Meet any other criteria established by the Commission

Job Description:
The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of the IT work at Easterseals, assisting in the planning, diagnosis, repair, and installation of information technology, equipment, and systems. You will also support our users via the helpdesk and in person. You will be supervised and mentored in these responsibilities by the IT Manager and the Director of Information Systems. Job duties may be optimized and refined as your skills and interests become apparent, to maximize your learning experience and contribution to the organization. You will have opportunities to engage with a wide range of real-world users, devices, and contexts across our organization. This internship will provide a broad and varied foundation of real-world experience in many different areas that you can carry into your future career.

Hours: 20 hours/week, Monday - Friday between the hours of 7 am and 5 pm
Can be flexible with work hours, but must adhere to the schedule once the schedule is set.
Pay: $14.00 per hour
Responsibilities:
  • Troubleshoot computer equipment using common practices and research tools.
  • Monitor antivirus software, updates, and repair computers and assist users
  • Install computers, printers, and networking components
  • Maintain confidentiality and security in an environment governed by HIPAA
  • Prioritize tasks according to guidance.
  • Employ solutions in a virtualized server environment
  • Participate as part of a team, assisting users to achieve solutions
  • Provide customer support and document solutions
  • Special projects around programming, data science, etc., are available depending on your interest and skill levels.
  • Independent travel may be required, as our team serves 11 locations and in-person support is sometimes needed; the two most distant locations are in Mt. Vernon and Chandler.
Qualifications:
Must be able to lift up to 45 lbs. routinely. The focus of study should be related to Information Technology. We are looking for an intern with exceptional customer service skills, solid troubleshooting skills, the ability to work well in a team environment, excellent oral and written communication skills, and the ability to work independently and prioritize tasks. Applicants should have experience with Windows 11. Experience with networking technologies and printer support is preferred. Experience with administering the Microsoft 365 Cloud Suite is valued. Applicants must have awareness of PC hardware components, desktop operating system software, and application software. Applicants must have awareness of the PC industry’s current and emerging technology trends and direction, as well as a keen interest in computer-based information systems and technology.
