JOB SUMMARY: Perform a wide variety of routine duties including clerical, technical and patient related care. The Technologist Assistant is responsible for assisting the Technologists with the daily operations of the department such as greeting and screening of patients, preparing patient and room for examinations, assist with exams, logging data into computer system and cleanliness of work area. Contributing to the efficient operation of the department, promoting clinical excellence and continuity of care.

The individual may be assigned to work in a variety of different modalities. JOB QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma or Equivalent. ESSENTIAL SKILLS REQUIRED: Knowledge of computer, technology, equipment operation, and safety.

Patient Care and Communication Knowledge of terminology and the ability to follow interpreting physicians directions. Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently. ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Capability to be independently mobile.

Ability to transport wheelchair and gurney patients. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, with reasonable flexibility. INTERRELATIONSHIP REQUIREMENTS: Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and families, who may or may not be under physical stress.

Interpersonal skills and knowledge necessary to interact with radiology personnel, radiologist, referring physicians, and co-workers. Ability to maintain confidential information. Possess an overall positive attitude toward patients, employer, and co-workers.

MAJOR DUTIES/CRITICAL TASKS: Required to accurately obtain signatures and complete site-specific patient consents and insurance demographic information. Prepares and educates patients about their procedure. Screen patients for contraindications.

Prepares patient for procedure by accurately assessing patients signs and symptoms. Practice accurate and timely completion of scheduled and unscheduled work to maximize productivity. Practice safety measures within the department and Environment of Care.

Applies the professions code of ethics in all aspects of practice. Performs other related duties as required. SUPERVISION: Reports To: Local Operations Manager EQUIPMENT: Various types of radiological equipment and computer system.
