Job description

Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week

Summary:
Provides support and assistance to the technologist in caring for patients and family members during the imaging process, completing clerical/computer duties, lifting/transporting of patients, and following hospital and departmental policies, protocols, and SOPs (including Radiation and MRI safety).
Responsibilities:
1.Assist radiographers with clerical duties, including verifying patient orders, completing patient questionnaires, and preparing and instructing patients.
2. Manage data entry and radiology computer information systems, including EPIC and PACS.
3. Follow MRI and radiation safety policies and procedures.
4. Monitor and replenish supplies as needed.
5. Screen patients and obtain pertinent medical history.
6. Explain procedures to patients and address any questions or concerns.
7. Facilitate patient workflow by tracking and verifying exams.
8. Report patient care or safety concerns to the appropriate staff.
9. Monitor patients in exam rooms or holding areas and report any sudden changes to a technologist, nurse, or physician.
10. Transport patients to and from the department according to protocols.
11. Notify technologists of any delays affecting operational workflow.
12. Assist with patient transfers and positioning for exams.
13. Maintain orderliness and cleanliness of work areas, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
14. Conduct daily and monthly room and supply checks and inventory counts.
15. Set up equipment and necessary medical/surgical supplies for examinations.
16. Perform miscellaneous duties such as collecting and transporting supplies.
17. Other duties as needed.

1. Basic computer skills.
Education and Experience
1. Education: High School diploma or GED required.
2. Certification: Basic Life Support preferred, or to be completed within 90 days of hire.
3. Years of relevant experience: 1 year preferred
4. Years of supervisory experience: None
5. Current student of Radiologic Technology Program preferred.
