Job description

Job Summary:
The position serves as the assistant to the Director of Technology for the school district.ย  The technology assistant will help with the deployment, implementation, and maintenance of district and building-level technology.
The position is focused on computer hardware and software but is also expected to work with all elements of technology including telephone network, copy and printing services, audio-visual support, and other technology.
Duties/Responsibilities:



  1. Structure:ย  This position is a full-time position.
  2. Demographics:ย  The position will serve each site in the district as needs arise.ย  Site locations include ROCORIย High School/Middle School, District Education Facility, Cold Spring Elementary, Richmond and Rockville.
  3. Software:ย  Windows, MacOS, Office, Smart Notebook, Skyward SIS, as well as an understanding of portable devices, such as iPads and smart phones.
  4. Hardware:ย  Troubleshooting/replacing hardware components within PCs and Macs.ย  The individual should be capable of performing basic troubleshooting procedures on projectors, Smartboards, scanners, wireless and printing.
  5. Networking:ย  The individual should have basic networking skills.ย  These skills include creating patch cables and troubleshooting network issues at a desktop or laptop level.

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum HS diploma required
  • Strong computer skills in word processing, spreadsheets and databases
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability toย multi-task and work with deadlines
  • Ability to perform both general and specialized tasks with limited supervisionย

This is a 12-month position. The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.45 to $25.13 depending on education and experience. Additional benefits included are health insurance, long term disability, life insurance, and paid time off.
