Job Title: IT System Administrator IΒ 

Department: Information Technology

Reports to: IT Infrastructure Manager



Position Summary:


This position is responsible for software deployments, assisting with vulnerability management, assisting with daily operations, system maintenance, troubleshooting of the computer systems, desktop applications, Azure administration, email administration, and critical computer systems that are used to support business needs.Β 


Essential Functions:


  • Assist with software installations, troubleshooting software and hardware issues in Windows and Linux.Β 
  • Maintain and manage software deployments and removals as well as software inventory using PDQ.Β Β 
  • Assist with Azure administration, compliance, and data loss prevention.Β 
  • Conduct new user orientations, and onboarding/offboarding of users.Β 
  • Assist with vulnerability management.Β 
  • Assist with patching and security updates by developing expertise in Windows and RedHat Patching routines.
  • Assist with new server builds, server hardening, and troubleshooting outages by developing expertise in VMware.
  • Demonstrate analytical skills by researching problems and developing resolutions with documented steps.Β 
  • Provide end-user support when required.
  • Assist service desk members with tickets and triage events.Β Β 
  • Continue to maintain technology skills by seeking to continually improve skill sets and learn new technologies.Β Β 
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements


Job Qualifications:


Education:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; four years of equivalent work experience will substitute for degree.Β 


Experience:

1-2 years of experience in systems administration or a similar role.Β 


Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Excellent verbal & written communication skills.
  • Skill in managing multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Skill in building and maintaining relationships with technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Skill in working with third party vendors for support and resolving technical issues.Β 
  • Ability to work as a team to accomplish larger goals and improve technical knowledge.Β 
  • Ability to maintain a ticketing queue and update tickets with progress reports.Β Β 
  • Ability to work after hours at times to patch and update servers during non-production hours.Β Β 


Specialized Knowledge, Licenses, etc.:

  • Windows Active Directory and Server (2016 and later)
  • Windows 11.
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)Β 
  • Azure and Exchange experience.
  • RedHat Linux Enterprise experience.
  • VMWare Server Virtualization exposure.Β 
  • MS SQL Server knowledge.Β 
  • Hardware and software experience.
