Job description

Role: Infrastructure Engineer/ System Engineer (Database Focus)
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid – 3 Days Onsite per Week)
Employment Type: Contract (C2C)

Experience: 7–8 Years

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer, monitor, and maintain enterprise database environments.
  • Install, configure, upgrade, and patch database servers.
  • Perform database performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Manage backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database, server, and infrastructure-related issues.
  • Monitor database health, storage utilization, and system performance.
  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and DevOps teams to support production environments.
  • Implement database security, user access controls, and compliance standards.
  • Support high availability, replication, clustering, and failover solutions.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and system configurations.
  • Participate in production support and on-call rotations as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 7–8 years of experience in Infrastructure Engineering or Database Administration.
  • Hands-on experience with one or more database platforms:

    • Microsoft SQL Server
    • PostgreSQL
    • MySQL
  • Strong knowledge of Windows and Linux server administration.
  • Experience with database backup, recovery, and disaster recovery planning.
  • Proficiency in database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
