Principle Duties and Responsibilities

1. Provides technical oversight, leadership, and direction to the IS technical services team.

2. Manages resources and processes required to design, plan, and support all information systems, technologies, and services.

3. Identifies opportunities for team training and skills advancement.

4. Manages projects and work of the team in alignment with executing team goals and objectives.

5. Manages team communications to ensure the IS technical team has the necessary information and necessary tools.

6. Creates operational/team processes to ensure they are effective, documented and followed.

7. Ensures team is allocated accordingly based upon experience, expertise & interest.

8. Safeguards assets by planning, implementing disaster recovery, back-up procedures, information security and control structures.

9. Provides advice and options on new system components and compatibility issues.

10. Identifies and acts on opportunities to improve software and system updates.

11. Oversees and maintains detailed architecture, infrastructure, system standards and documents.

12. Supports the analysis, planning, implementation and evaluation of relevant process improvement projects.

13. Communicates with individuals and project leaders to deliver the best solution for the process improvement projects.

14. Recommends and coordinates upgrades/replacements of end-user’s hardware, wiring, network hardware, and servers.

15. Interviews and makes recommendations for hiring candidates for IS technical services team.

16. Stays up to date with information technologies, solutions, and vendors that could be applied to address business needs.

17. Understands and is knowledgeable in network security.

18. Provides support after hours for escalated calls.

19. Performs yearly technology reviews and provides recommendations to support operations.

Job Specifications

1. Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field is preferred.

2. 3+ years experience managing teams that support network servers, infrastructure, desktop, and peripheral devices in a mixed environment.

3. Experience with people management skills, including conflict resolution and facilitation.

4. Leadership abilities with the focus on bringing people together to execute department and company goals.

5. Ability to provide training and personal development to team members.

6. Strong judgment and decision-making skills.

7. Strong technology system skills and knowledge is required.

Working Conditions

1. Office environment.

2. Job requirements may demand overtime and/or evening or weekend scheduling.

3. Travel up to 20% of the time.

This position is eligible for a bonus based on company goals/performance.
