Job description

Job Title: Manager, Supply Chain Information Systems
Location: Boston, MA preferred (open to remote candidates)
Contract Duration: 6+ months
FLSA Status: Exempt


Overview

We are seeking a Manager, Supply Chain Information Systems to lead the operation, maintenance, and strategic direction of materials management and supply chain systems within a large healthcare environment. This role is responsible for driving system optimization, supporting operational efficiency, and enabling cost-saving initiatives across the supply chain function.


Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of Materials Management Information Systems (MMIS) and related platforms
  • Develop and implement system protocols, including vendor and item maintenance, user setup, troubleshooting, and new functionality
  • Partner with internal stakeholders and IT teams to manage system upgrades, patches, and performance
  • Lead system-related projects, including implementations, reporting enhancements, and process improvements
  • Direct and mentor staff responsible for system operations, reporting, and data management
  • Monitor vendor performance, contract compliance, and pricing accuracy using system tools
  • Identify and recommend cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Supply Chain and Accounts Payable for system and invoice discrepancies
  • Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and training documentation
  • Provide training and support to internal teams on system usage and best practices

Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s degree in Business Administration or related field required

Experience:

  • 5+ years of supply chain information systems management experience in a healthcare environment
  • OR 10โ€“15 years of relevant experience with at least 5 years in progressive leadership roles

Skills & Competencies
  • Strong project management and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives and drive results
  • Experience leading and developing teams
  • Peoplesoft MMIS and GHX Required
  • Advanced knowledge of supply chain systems (ERP, purchasing, inventory, reporting)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Ability to implement process improvements and new programs

Additional Requirements
  • Applicants must be eligible to work on a W-2 basis (no C2C)
  • Must be able to pass a background check and occupational health screening (includes flu vaccination)

Work Environment & Physical Requirements
  • Primarily desk-based with extensive computer use
  • Frequent data entry, reporting, and system navigation
  • Occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds)
  • Regular sitting, reaching, and fine motor activities
