Job description

Position Summary:

  • We are seeking a Hardware Project Engineer to support the design, development, verification, testing, and production of custom space electronic hardware.
  • The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams throughout the complete hardware product lifecycle, from requirements development and system integration to manufacturing support, hardware verification,.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, development, integration, and production of custom space electronic hardware.
  • Participate in the complete hardware product lifecycle from concept through production.
  • Review, manage, derive, and allocate system, design, and test requirements.
  • Coordinate hardware verification activities and ensure customer requirements are fully validated.
  • Develop hardware test procedures and support Design Verification Testing (DVT) and Production Hardware Testing.
  • Read and interpret PCBA schematics and support hardware integration activities.
  • Troubleshoot electronic hardware to the component and integrated circuit (IC) level using laboratory test equipment.
  • Perform Failure Analysis, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), and Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA).
  • Participate in Failure Review Board (FRB) activities and resolve manufacturing and test non-conformance issues.
  • Prepare engineering documentation, technical reports, and customer deliverables.
  • Collaborate with Systems, Hardware, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering teams to ensure successful product delivery.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE).
  • 3+ years of experience in Hardware Engineering or Electronic Systems Engineering.
  • Experience supporting the complete hardware product development lifecycle.
  • Hands-on experience with PCBA, PCB Schematics, and electronic hardware troubleshooting.
  • Experience authoring, managing, deriving, and verifying requirements for complex electronic systems.
  • Experience using IBM Rational DOORS, Jama Connect, Polarion, or similar requirements management tools.
  • Experience supporting Design Verification Testing (DVT) and/or Production Hardware Testing.
  • Strong knowledge of Digital Electronics, Computer Architecture, and Digital Interface Technologies.
  • Hands-on experience using Oscilloscopes, Logic Analyzers, Multimeters, or other laboratory test equipment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and technical documentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Space Electronics or Spacecraft Hardware.
  • Experience with Embedded Processors.
  • Knowledge of Radiation-Hardened or Radiation-Tolerant Electronics.
  • Experience with Hardware Verification, Qualification Testing, FRB, RCA, and RCCA.
  • Experience supporting Aerospace, Defense, Satellite, Avionics, or Military Electronics programs.

Preferred Industry Background:

  • Candidates with experience supporting organizations such as Blue Origin, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, Northrop Grumman, Raytheon, L3Harris, Honeywell Aerospace, Collins Aerospace, General Dynamics, Sierra Space, Maxar, or other Aerospace & Defense companies will be highly preferred.
