At Polaris Inc., we have fun doing what we love by driving change and innovation. We empower employees to take on challenging assignments and roles with an elevated level of responsibility in our agile working environment. Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to Think Outside.
Position Overview:
You will be responsible for designing and delivering complete vehicle-level electrical systems that support the performance, reliability, and manufacturability of Polaris off-road vehicles. In this role, you own electrical harness routing, component placement, and system integration from early concept through production release, validation, and field support. You will work closely with platform architects, systems engineers, manufacturing, suppliers, and validation teams to ensure robust and scalable electrical designs. This is a compelling opportunity to take technical ownership of complex vehicle electrical systems and see your designs implemented across global off-road platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Own the CAD execution of vehicle electrical systems, including component placement, harness routing, interfaces, and overall system layout from concept through production release.
  • Collaborate with platform electrical architects and systems engineers to translate vehicle-level electrical strategies into detailed, manufacturable designs.
  • Manage electrical system design release activities and deadlines, prioritizing tasks effectively across multiple concurrent programs.
  • Develop and support electrical system variants to enable different feature levels and product configurations across vehicle platforms.
  • Ensure electrical system designs meet manufacturability requirements by working closely with manufacturing teams and supporting Design-For-Manufacturing activities.
  • Engage with validation and field support teams to troubleshoot issues, perform root-cause analysis, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Coordinate with project teams to manage electrical system timelines and support vehicle bill-of-materials development.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop new electrical designs, processes, and components.
  • Support prototype vehicle builds and provides hands-on assistance as needed.
  • Provide mechanical design support related to the electrical system, including brackets, interfaces, bolted joints, and related features.

Desired Competencies:
  • Technical / Functional Expertise: You apply the required technical or professional knowledge to perform your role effectively and stay current within your area of expertise.
  • Collaboration: You work effectively with others across functions and levels, contributing to shared goals while respecting different perspectives.
  • Problem Solving: You identify issues, assess root causes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed, quality, and risk.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in an accredited Engineering discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Robotics, or Mechatronics).
  • Minimum of 1 year of design experience in a related engineering field.
  • Proficiency with mechanical CAD tools; experience with electrical CAD tools is preferred.
  • Experience with new product design and development, including complex system integration.
  • Understanding of electrical fundamentals and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Experience routing cables or flexible components in a vehicle or equipment environment preferred.
  • Ability to manage detail and complexity across multiple programs while meeting release timelines.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Ability to work with domestic and international suppliers and technology partners.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
