Department: Engineering
Job Status: Full Time
FLSA Status: SalaryExempt
Reports To: Engineering Design Manager
Location: Ponca City, OK
Amount of Travel Required: N/A
Work Schedule: Monday-Thursday (5:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.)and Sunday-Thursday (7:00 p.m. - 4 p.m.)
Positions Supervised: N/A
POSITION SUMMARY: The CAD Designer serves in the Engineering Department. will provide support to senior designers/engineers, product managers, machine shop, layout department and shop floor.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (The following duties and responsibilities are all essential job functions, as defined by the ADA, except for those that begin with the word "may.")
  • Create drawings of assemblies, weldments and individual manufactured components used in the fabrication of specialty steel trailers, as well as other various product lines.
  • Design large trailers that are 80,000 and above GVW. (Similar experience may be considered).
  • Think of possible design solutions.
  • Research whether the design will work and be cost-effective.
  • Assess the usability, environmental impact and safety of a design.
  • Observes all safety regulations
  • Performs other related duties as assigned to assist with successful operations and business continuity.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS
  • Successfully passes background check, pre-employment drug screening, an any pre-employment aptitude and/or competency assessment(s) including pre-employment Pulmonary Function Test (PFT.)
  • In-person, predictable attendance

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE LEVEL
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or relevant related work experience
  • A minimum of three to five years of Manufacturing and related Engineering experience required in various Manufacturing Engineering functions
  • Proven experience working with Lean Manufacturing principles
  • Experience working in a team environment preferably with a small to medium size company

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, COMPETENCIES, AND ABILITIES
  • Possess strong understanding of materials science, manufacturing processes, and industry standards
  • Possess strong understanding of miscellaneous processes like Plasma cutting, Laser cut, forming, and welding.
  • High proficiency with using Pro-e/Creo or similar 3-D software.
  • Excellent speaking, writing, and listening skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced and high-demand environment.
  • Knowledge and experience with ERP systems in Discrete Manufacturing; preferably with Made2Manage ERP.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), with emphasis on Excel as it is used heavily for data analysis and reporting.
  • Must be able to work under timeline constraints.
  • Possess the ability to effectively communicate and convey information and collaborate with teammates.

Daily required to walk, sit, climb, bend, reach and squat/kneel. Given these conditions employees are required to wear company mandated and issued personal protective equipment (PPE) and must strictly adhere to all safety policies.
Work hours may include or includes early morning, late evenings, and weekends, depending on business necessity.
