The Senior Business Analyst will serve as a key liaison between business stakeholders and the Sales and Service IT team. This role is responsible for identifying business requirements, translating them into functional solutions, and collaborating with technical teams to support successful implementation.

You will make an impact by:

  • Leading efforts to reengineer and optimize business processes and systems by assessing business needs and developing, proposing, and implementing technology solution options. Act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in business processes.

  • Leading, identifying, designing, and implementing information systems to meet business process requirements.

  • Assessing business needs of assigned functional area. Determining which business processes to re-engineer or automate. Developing and proposing technology solution options.

  • Leading and managing enhancements for small to medium sized efforts.

  • Configuring and testing systems to execute features, integration, and reporting.

  • Developing functional specifications for system features and reports.

  • Documenting technical designs utilized to implement features and reports.

  • Analyzing and validating Salesforce declarative solutions (Flows,Custom Metadata Types) to ensure requirements are technically sound before handoff to development or vendor teams.

  • Evaluating and recommending AI-enabled capabilities within the Salesforce ecosystem (e.g., Service Cloud AI,Agentforce, Data Cloud-dependent features) to improve case handling, content generation, and customer support workflows.

  • Provide mentorship to junior level Business System Analysts.

What you'll need (Required):

  • Bachelor's Degree in computer science or related field + 6 years of related experience or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria - OR -

  • Master's Degree in computer science or related field + 4 years of related experience or equivalent work experience based on Edwards criteria

  • Relocation is not provided for this role. Only candidates within a 50-mile radius of Irvine, California will be considered.

What else we look for (Preferred):

  • Certified Salesforce.com Administrator and/or Certified Salesforce.com Advanced Administrator - highly preferred

  • 3+ years of experience configuring the Salesforce.com platform, including declarative automation (Flow)

  • 2+ years of experience documenting requirements and articulating business analytical artefacts

  • Ability to read and analyze Apex code (triggers, classes) at a business-analyst level - enough to evaluate technical designs, spot logic gaps, and validate vendor or developer implementations, without necessarily writing production code

  • Experience architecting or evaluating integrations between Salesforce and external systems (e.g., middleware platforms like TIBCO or MuleSoft, REST APIs, third-party SaaS)

  • AI section: Familiarity with AI capabilities within enterprise platforms (e.g., Salesforce Service Cloud AI/Agentforce, Data Cloud, generative AI tools) and ability to translate them into business requirements or use cases

  • Experience evaluating or building a business case for AI tool adoption, including identifying role-based use cases and estimating impact/effort

  • Understanding of where AI fits within a regulated data architecture - including audit trail, data governance, and validation considerations relevant toGxP/21 CFR Part 11 environments

  • Experience in business modeling using methods and frameworks such as UML or BPMN, analyzing and documenting all key business analysis artifacts

  • Experience working in a global, Agile environment

  • Strong analytical and logical problem-solving skills

  • Strong interpersonal relations, written & verbal communication skills, project management skills

  • Ability to develop and maintain business and technical documentation. Ability to map, troubleshoot, and optimize interfaces with multiple systems.

  • Experience with Good Manufacturing/Good Documentation Practices (GxP) processes

  • Hands-on experience with Computer System Validation (CSV) in a regulated environment, including authoring or executing validation deliverables (URS, IQ/OQ/PQ, test scripts, traceability matrices) for Salesforce or other enterprise systems

  • Experience ensuring configuration and release changes meet 21 CFR Part 11 requirements (audit trail, e-signature, data integrity) prior to production deployment

  • Experience with enterprise information systems including ERP, PLM, CRM, QMS (such as JDE, SAP), PLM (Teamcenter, Agile), MES (such as CAMSTAR, APRISO), CRM (such as Salesforce.com), QMS (such as Pilgrim, TrackWise, Master Control)

  • Experience with identifying, integrating, and managing SaaS solutions and external vendors

  • Adhere to all company rules and requirements (e.g., pandemic protocols, Environmental Health & Safety rules) and take adequate control measures in preventing injuries to themselves and others as well as to the protection of environment and prevention of pollution under their span of influence/control

For California (CA), the base pay range for this position is $108,000 to $153,000 (highly experienced).
