Computer Systems Analyst

Assist and/or install, deploy, and test new security operations and other cyber security related support systems. A full and thorough knowledge of modern cyber security computer systems and applications must be maintained to be able to quickly collect data to back up decisions you will make.

Computer Systems Analyst Responsibilities:
  • Consult with colleagues about their IT needs.
  • Assist in testing and implementing cyber security hardware and software technologies typically used by our SOC (security operations center) staff, to decide if they offer improvements.
  • Assist the management team in deciding if the evaluated system meets the expectations of the IT systems and infrastructure upgrades to ensure that it makes business sense.
  • Aid in the development of new functionality for existing computer systems.
  • Assist in the selection and installation of new software and hardware systems to ensure company's systems stay relevant and effective during the life cycle of the systems.
  • Oversee new system installation and setup and customize them for business needs.
  • Run tests on systems.
  • Train end-users and write instruction manuals, as necessary.
Computer Systems Analyst Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in computer science or related field.
  • Knowledge of and experience with distributed networking concepts.
  • In depth knowledge of hardware and software applications.
  • Strong desire to assist in developing and supporting effective business systems.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Strong understanding of SOC operations and procedures.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Work well with our network administrator, security analyst, hardware analyst, business analyst, support specialist, and other team members.
  • Assist with inventory control.
  • Provide technical support as needed.
  • Understand and assist in data collection and defense in depth of the company's systems according to SOC 2 and other compliance frameworks as needed.
