Job description

TENAX Technologies seeks a Senior Computer Systems Engineer/Architect to support a DoD customer in designing, securing, and modernizing enterprise and mission systems. The role provides technical leadership across systems architecture, AWS cloud environments, cybersecurity (RMF), and infrastructure integration in classified, mission-critical settings.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and integration of secure enterprise architectures across on-premises and AWS cloud environments (hybrid/cloud-native)
  • Architect and manage AWS services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudWatch, and Lambda, ensuring secure and scalable deployments
  • Implement cloud security best practices aligned with DoD Cloud SRG, RMF, and Zero Trust principles
  • Perform systems engineering lifecycle activities (requirements, design, integration, testing, sustainment)
  • Integrate cybersecurity tools and processes including:
    • ACAS (Nessus), HBSS/endpoint security, and SIEM solutions
    • STIG/SRG compliance and vulnerability remediation
    • Development of ATO artifacts (SSP, SAR, POA&M)
  • Design and support DevSecOps pipelines and CI/CD workflows, including automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC)
  • Oversee integration of compute, storage, virtualization (VMware/Hyper-V), identity management (AD/RBAC), and backup solutions
  • Provide technical leadership and architecture governance, supporting design reviews, risk assessments, and modernization strategies
  • Develop and maintain architecture documentation, system diagrams, and configuration baselines

Required Qualifications

  • Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI preferred)
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • 10+ years of experience in systems engineering or architecture
  • Experience with:
    • AWS cloud services and secure cloud architecture
    • DoD RMF and ATO processes
    • Enterprise infrastructure (Linux/Windows, virtualization, storage, networking)
    • STIG implementation and cybersecurity compliance

Desired Qualifications

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional)
  • DoD 8570/8140 IAT/IAM Level II certification (e.g., CISSP, CASP+)
  • Experience with Zero Trust Architecture, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and DevSecOps
  • Prior support to DoD/Navy/Army environments (e.g., NAVSEA, NSWCPD, ARL)
