Starting Salary: $60,000 - $85,000 (depending on experience)

Work Environment: Hybrid (4 days in-office, 1 day remote)

Job Summary:
The IT Systems Engineer is responsible for designing, administering, and supporting technologically diverse enterprise systems that span over multiple locations. This position supports the Windows and Linux based server infrastructure with a focus on skills ranging from server virtualization to networking. System administrations functions will be assigned to ensure systems are reliable, efficiency, and availability to best support business and customer productivity. 
Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Providing advanced technical support. Including taking ownership of problems not resolved by the Support Services Team
  • Participate in the development and execution of technology strategies to support organizational activities and direction
  • Analyze, install, configure, upgrade, document, monitor, and maintain software and hardware for business processing requirements
  • Support and maintain the Cisco UCS infrastructure and other standalone servers
  • Plan and support server patching initiatives at various locations
  • Have a strong understanding of supported systems to include operating systems, server hardware, security tools, monitoring tools, networking devices, web servers, application servers, integration servers, and other departmental or enterprise applications or systems


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical areas such as Computer or Information Science, Information Technology, or Technical Networking. Equivalent training and experience can be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 3 years of experience supporting and maintaining:
    • Microsoft Windows server and Linux Operation Systems
    • Active Directory (including architecture/design experience, group policy, and certificate services)
    • DNS & DHCP
    • Virtual Machine (VM) environments utilizing VMWare/Hyper-V
    • Data storage (SAN, NAS, replication)
    • Backup systems, such as Cohesity, VEEAM, NetBackup, TSM, etc.
  • Previous experience with leading initiatives with suport from a team that addresses complex situations and architect solutions on the different hardware platforms and software applications.
  • Must be able to explain understanding and knowledge of:
    • Windows Server Deployment, including virtualized servers
    • Windows Server Management
    • Server Patch Management
  • Previous experience with Cisco UCS, LAN, and wireless LAN devices, WAN and SD-WAN devices and technologies, firewalls, and network security, DFS, Microsoft SQL Server, monitoring tools (Solarwinds, etc.), Microsoft IIS and Apache web servers.

Additional Skills:

  • Knowledge of server and system administration principles
  • Excellent analytical skills to interpret complex, cross-functional requirements and challenges
  • Must be able to work effectively as a team contributor and as a team lead when appropriate to mentor and encourage growth of team members
  • Ability to follow and create standards and procedures while handling the fast-paced environment needs
  • Ability to effectively communicate in English, both verbally and in writing. Additional languages preferred.

The physical demands and work environment are representative of a typical office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds. 

Travel:

This position does require travel to other Woodgrain locations, expected travel time is <15%.
