Job description

The position of IS Support Specialist I is of great significance to Valley Wide Cooperative. A person in this position will be responsible for will be the first point of contact for providing users with guidance and support, assisting with problems, inquiries, and problem resolution. Confidentiality in matters relating to customers and employees is crucial.

Job Summary:

These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently.

  1. Install end-user devices, troubleshoot PC, printer, and network connectivity issues, analyze and complete work requests, and provide technical assistance on projects.
  2. Perform routine problem analysis and resolution, recommending technical solutions.
  3. Provide timely, efficient, and courteous support, complete documentation on assignments, and train/assist employees and customers with problems.
  4. Install designated hardware and software that best meet the business and functional requirements of the cooperative.
  5. Interact with hardware vendors as required, researching possible solutions to provide the most appropriate technical recommendations.
  6. Manage system problems and changes according to Valley Wide Cooperative’s processes.
  7. Provide timely and efficient courteous support to staff.
  8. Travel between locations to perform assigned duties.
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.


ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES:

  1. High School diploma or GED required, Associates of Applied Science in a technical field preferred.
  2. 1-3 years of related work experience in information technology preferred.
  3. Strong communication skills; ability to communicate professionally with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors, and the public.
  4. Ability to make appropriate decisions and execute them according to policy.
  5. Ability to determine the order of need and task priority based on importance.
  6. Exhibit a professional and positive image.
