Position Title: Computer Support Specialist
Location: Ft. Detrick, MD
Clearance: ***Active DoD Secret security clearance is required***

Position Summary:
1 Prospect Technologies is actively seeking a qualified Computer Support Specialist who is familiar with Data Center Operations in support of a complex web server environment, providing support for monitoring of the Data Center's environmental systems. Troubleshooting of operational issues, escalation and coordination of operational activities will be required. The Computer Support Specialist shall perform limited resolution per documented guidelines; coordinate support as needed in support of operational guidelines prescribed by the Fort Detrick Local Cyber Support Center (LCSC) Ops Center management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
โ€ข Performs power up/down procedures for various platforms and devices located in the data center.
โ€ข Provides operational support for server class platforms.
โ€ข Performs the physical installation, rack-mounting ('rack and stack'), and structured cabling (copper and fiber) of server, network, and storage hardware in strict accordance with rack elevation diagrams and cable management standards.
โ€ข Assists in Property Management and working with Government staff to prepare equipment for pickup.
โ€ข Provides help desk support for Fort Detrick LCSC and must have the ability to log problems via telephone, e-mail or web and attempt to resolve or elevate to appropriate SME.
โ€ข Provides emergency on-call support between 16:30 and 08:00 during normal business days and 24-hour coverage on weekends and holidays, on a rotational basis.
โ€ข Have good communications skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of one or more teams.
โ€ข Participates in Data Center expansion, growth, and reconfiguration projects.
โ€ข Updates all documentation, databases, SOPs for all functions performed and systems affected- including VISIO, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Ops logs, SOPs, maintenance logs, event logs, and activities logs
โ€ข Monitors and provide access to Data Center using standard operating procedures
โ€ข Performs end-of-day security checks of Protected Distribution Systems (PDS), security safes, cabinet locks, and entry/exit doors to prevent unauthorized access and verify facility integrity.
โ€ข Verifies DPW has performed monthly Generator, UPS/Chiller/ tests and inspection.
โ€ข Interacts with LCSC staff and provides assistance in resolving issues.
โ€ข Assists with network server administration functions.
โ€ข Physically verify rack configurations (locations, contents, identification) and update as needed rack elevation diagrams using Microsoft Visio or similar software.
โ€ข May perform IAVA patching and computer imaging.
โ€ข Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience Requirements:

Experience

โ€ข Associate degree desired, with 5 plus years' experience.
โ€ข Proven customer service skills.
โ€ข Applies systematic troubleshooting and diagnostic procedures to resolve complex system issues. Advanced diagnostic skills and tools knowledge.
โ€ข Experience with ServiceNow or similar help desk tracking tools.
โ€ข Experience with Microsoft Office products including Access, Excel, Visio and Word.
โ€ข Demonstrated ability to work without direct supervision.
โ€ข Knowledge of Army IT regulations and security procedures.
