Job description

Position Summary  

The Assistant Store Manager supports the Store Manager in driving operational excellence, delivering exceptional customer experiences, and leading the store team to achieve sales and performance goals. This role is responsible for daily operations, team development, visual merchandising, and ensuring compliance with company policies and standards.

Physical Requirements

  • Standing: Consistently for sustained periods of time. 
  • Walking:  Consistently moving about on foot to accomplish tasks throughout the store and stock room. 
  • Climbing: Occasionally ascending/descending on a ladder to reach apparel on stock room shelves or set up visual displays on selling floor.
  • Fine motor skills: Frequently operates a computer and other machinery such as a point of sale register, in-store kiosk and computer printer.  Frequently hanging apparel on hangers and folding merchandise on the selling floor and backroom. 
  • Lifting:  Occasionally lift up to 20 pounds unassisted.
  • Stooping: Occasionally bending the body downward and forward to reach items below the cash wrap, lower fixtures and the lower stock room shelves.
  • Reaching: Occasionally extend reach or hands overhead to hang apparel items or clean fixtures.
  • Twisting/Bending: Occasionally position self to work on register, pick up items off the floor and fold clothing at the cash wrap.
  • Work Environment: Work under florescent lighting while in store.

Education & Experience Requirements

  • Demonstrated ability to lead small teams and manage daily operations effectively.
  • Retail financial acumen required
  • Previous retail leadership experience required; specialty retail environment strongly preferred
  • Prior customer service and merchandising experience required
