Carolina International Trucks is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shop Foreman to lead our team of Service Technicians and ensure efficient and effective shop operations.

As our Shop Foreman, you will play a crucial role in the day-to-day operations of our service shop. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring our team of skilled technicians, ensuring smooth workflow, and maintaining our commitment to exceptional customer service. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and direct the activities of service technicians, ensuring efficient and accurate completion of repairs and maintenance.
  • Assign work orders to technicians based on their skills and the needs of the shop.
  • Monitor job progress and provide technical guidance and support to technicians as needed.
  • Ensure all work is performed according to manufacturer specifications and dealership standards.
  • Inspect completed work to ensure quality and accuracy before vehicle release.
  • Assist the Service Manager in developing and implementing efficient shop processes and procedures.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
  • Communicate effectively with the Service Manager, service advisors, and parts department to ensure seamless workflow and customer satisfaction.
  • Assist with troubleshooting complex diagnostic issues.
  • Monitor technician performance and provide feedback for improvement.
  • Ensure proper documentation of all repairs and maintenance.
  • Assist with the training and development of service technicians.
  • Adhere to all company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience (3+ years preferred) as a Foreman, Lead Technician, or Supervisor in a medium to heavy-duty truck service environment.
  • Strong technical knowledge of medium and heavy-duty truck systems, including diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
  • Excellent diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Proficiency in using computer-based diagnostic tools and service information systems.
  • Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • ASE certifications (Medium/Heavy Truck) are highly desirable.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
