Job description

Markon is seeking an experienced Computer Network Defense Analyst (CNDA) Level 1 to support the Fort Meade customer by defending mission-critical networks and systems against advanced cyber threats. This role performs proactive cyber defense, threat analysis, incident response, and vulnerability assessment to protect Intelligence Community operations. Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, the CNDA leverages advanced analytical techniques and cybersecurity expertise to identify malicious activity, strengthen network defenses, and enhance the organization's overall security posture. Responsibilities * Monitor and analyze data from Computer Network Defense (CND) resources, including intrusion detection systems, firewalls, network traffic, endpoint telemetry, and host system logs to identify malicious activity and potential threats.
* Investigate cybersecurity events, assess their impact, and support incident response activities to protect mission systems and infrastructure.
* Develop and implement defensive measures and mitigation strategies to reduce cyber risk and improve network resilience.
* Analyze wired, wireless, cellular, and collaborative communications environments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend security improvements.
* Evaluate hardware, software, and network architectures to identify security weaknesses and support defensive operations.
* Correlate, query, enrich, and analyze large datasets from multiple sources to identify patterns, anomalies, and indicators of compromise.
* Apply advanced analytical techniques to develop actionable intelligence supporting cyber defense operations.
* Document investigations, develop tradecraft, and produce technical reports, briefings, and recommendations for operational and leadership audiences.
* Collaborate with government, military, contractor, and cross-functional cyber teams to support mission objectives and improve defensive capabilities.
* Maintain awareness of emerging cyber threats, technologies, and industry best practices to continuously enhance defensive operations. Qualifications Required Qualifications: * Active TS/SCI With Polygraph through this Customer
* Bachelor's degree in Network Engineering, Systems Engineering, Information Technology, or related STEM field (or equivalent experience/training) and 2+ years of experience
* Experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Computer or information systems design and development
* Cybersecurity, network security, or information assurance
* Vulnerability analysis or penetration testing
* Computer forensics
* Systems engineering
* Experience with network and/or system administration
* Strong understanding of networking protocols, architectures, and security principles
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment Desired Qualifications: * Experience supporting Intelligence Community or Department of Defense cyber operations.
* Knowledge of cloud security, virtualization technologies, IoT security, and modern enterprise architectures.
* Experience with malware analysis, threat hunting, or digital forensics.
* Familiarity with scripting or automation using Python, PowerShell, or Bash.
* One or more of the following certifications:
