Summary of Job Duties:
*This position is located in Searcy, Arkansas*
The RN (PRN) provides clinical nursing care for children enrolled in local KIDS FIRST clinics. Acts as a clinical resource for clinic staff.
Qualifications:
  • Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program with an Associate's degree, Nursing diploma, Bachelor's in Nursing, or Master's in Nursing
  • Valid RN License
  • Minimum of 2 years of Registered Nursing experience or 2 years of clinical nursing experience

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Strong work ethics and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • BSN or MSN with three (3) or more years of nursing experience.
  • Pediatric Care experience.
  • Current BLS.

Responsibilities:
  • Implements the nursing process to manage patient care problems of a complex and changing nature as demonstrated by documentation and observation.
  • Assumes accountability and responsibility for all aspects of care for the assigned group of patients, with respect for developmental level and age-specific issues.
  • Administers medications and treatments and performs procedures according to UAMS and KIDS FIRST policies.
  • Evaluates children to identify signs of illness or injury and intervenes appropriately.
  • Maintains current and accurate records and ensures confidentiality.
  • Teaching/learning needs of patients and families are identified, addressed, and documented.
  • Acts as a resource for staff in the areas of health, safety, and infection control.
  • Assumes responsibility for acquiring knowledge and experience to meet professional goals.
  • Develops and maintains close working relationships with the clinic director, the Medical Director, nursing managers, the clinic nurse, and other team members.
  • Actively works with contacts to coordinate care and promote referrals to the program.
  • Collaborates with KIDS FIRST staff, PCPs, UAMS resources, and others to implement and revise plan of care as needed.
  • Provides employment documentation such as annual TB screening, CPR /nursing license renewal verification, etc., promptly.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
