Senior DevOps Engineer

Join AQI as a Senior DevOps Engineer and help shape the reliability, security, scalability, and operational maturity of our Software and SaaS platforms. In this role, you will lead infrastructure and automation improvements, partner closely with engineering and security teams, and drive practices that enable fast, safe, and resilient delivery.

This role is part of the InfraOps Team and is remote within Canada - PST working hours.

What you will do

  • Design, implement, and continuously improve highly available, secure, and scalable cloud infrastructure for AQI's Software and SaaS platforms.
  • Lead automation initiatives across infrastructure provisioning, deployments, incident response, and operational workflows to improve reliability and engineering velocity.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize CI/CD pipelines that enable safe, repeatable, and efficient software delivery.
  • Partner with engineering, security, and product teams to embed reliability, security, and operability into system design and delivery.
  • Own and enhance observability across critical services, including monitoring, logging, alerting, and service health dashboards.
  • Define and track service objectives and operational metrics, including SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs, and use them to drive continuous improvement.
  • Respond to production incidents, lead root cause analysis, and implement durable corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support on-call operations and contribute to a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and continuous learning.
  • Advocate for and implement DevOps, SRE, and cloud-native best practices across the organization.
  • Mentor team members and influence infrastructure standards, technical decisions, and platform roadmaps.

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in DevOps, Site Reliability Engineering, platform engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Strong hands-on experience with one or more major cloud platforms, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Proficiency with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools such as Terraform and Ansible.
  • Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies, including Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience building and supporting CI/CD pipelines in modern software delivery environments.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
  • Practical experience with observability and monitoring platforms such as Prometheus, Grafana, or Datadog.
  • Strong understanding of networking, security, and distributed systems in cloud-native environments.
  • Ability to lead through influence, communicate effectively across teams, and drive high-quality execution.

The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An associate's position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs.

The compensation range for this role is $90,000 to 130,000 CAD/year. This job is also eligible for bonus pay.
