Capital Project Engineering Co-op/Intern - Winter 2027

Where will you work: Mosaic Potash Belle Plaine is a solution mine and refinery located 50 kilometers west of Regina on the Trans-Canada Highway. It is the world's largest solution mine that is full of talented people andis home to over 500 dedicated employees.

What you'll do:

  • Execute Capital projects within the scope of a junior engineering role, from initial scoping and triage through detailed design and construction execution.

  • Participate in procurement activities, including bid preparation, solicitation, and selection of labour and material vendors.

  • Assist with scoping and planning future capital projects, contributing to improvements in the Capital budget development process, and strengthening five-year planning efforts

  • Support the active project portfolio by helping project engineers balance execution demands, including project handover and closeout activities

  • Gain exposure to multiple engineering functions across Belle Plaine (Capital Projects, Process Engineering, Maintenance, R&D, and Production)

  • Communicate with various levels of personnel throughout the organization, including management, plant operators, engineers (of various disciplines), tradespersons, and contractors.

  • Participation in department meetings and meetings specific to the project assignment.

  • Adhering to Mosaic's mission, guiding principles and priorities, and key competencies.

What you'll need:

  • Third-year or above by January 2027 pursuing a bachelor's in Chemical Engineer, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineer, Environmental Engineer, Industrial Systems Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, Mining Engineer, Process Engineer

  • 72% or higher

  • Ability to function in an industrial chemical and mining environment.

  • 1-2 years of experience volunteering, working with student/school organizations, orworkis preferred.

  • Reliable transportation and valid driver's license - You will need to be able to travel to and from sites and/or office.

  • Ability to work full timeand be a student in standing at the time of the co-op/internship

  • Selected candidates willbe requiredto successfully completepost-offer/pre-placementdrug and alcohol screening, background check, physical, functional capacity examination.

  • Basic computer skills are required

  • Experience working in a team environment is a must

  • Familiarity with an industrial environment is highly desirable

  • Effective verbal communication skills is a plus

  • Physical work environment is occasionally in the Refinery with exposure to varying degrees of hot and cold environments
