About the Role:

We are seeking a data-driven, business-savvy Data Scientist to support our publishing businesses. Reporting directly to the Portfolio Manager, you will analyze audience behavior, content performance, advertising revenue, and market trends to drive data-informed decisions. Your insights will optimize content strategies, audience engagement, ad monetization, and business growth in competitive digital publishing environments.

Key Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Insights

  • Analyze website traffic, audience demographics, and user engagement using Google Analytics, BigQuery, and other relevant tools.
  • Develop predictive models to forecast content performance, revenue trends, and audience growth.
  • Measure the effectiveness of SEO, social media, and paid marketing campaigns, providing actionable recommendations.
  • Identify trends in ad revenue, affiliate performance, and subscription data to optimize monetization strategies.

Business Strategy & Decision Support

  • Work closely with the Portfolio Manager to translate data into insights that drive editorial, marketing, and revenue decisions.
  • Provide competitive analysis, benchmarking our publications against industry leaders in automotive and travel media.
  • Automate reports and dashboards for real-time performance tracking.

Collaboration & Implementation

  • Partner with content leads and operation leads to align data strategies with business goals.
  • Work with developers and IT teams to improve data infrastructure, tracking systems, and analytics tools.
  • Present findings to executive leadership and key stakeholders in clear, business-oriented reports.

Requirements:

Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Search Console, and digital marketing analytics.
  • Knowledge of A/B testing methodologies and predictive modeling.
  • Familiarity with ad tech, affiliate analytics, and audience segmentation.

Business & Industry Knowledge
