Position Summary
The IT Operations Supervisor plans, coordinates, and oversees day-to-day information technology operations for Premium Peanut's Douglas, Georgia location and other assigned sites. This role is responsible for infrastructure reliability, cybersecurity administration, end-user support, systems documentation, project execution, and direct supervision of junior IT staff. The position is expected to exercise independent judgment on matters of significance, manage a recognized IT function, and ensure alignment of technology operations with business continuity, security, and operational objectives.
Essential Functions
• Lead, assign, monitor, and evaluate the daily work of junior IT staff; establish performance expectations; conduct training and coaching; document performance; and provide recommendations regarding hiring, promotions, disciplinary action, and other changes of status.
• Manage the IT operations function for assigned facilities, including prioritization of service requests, escalation handling, outage response, and continuous improvement of support processes.
• Administer and oversee enterprise infrastructure, including servers, storage, virtual environments, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, endpoint management, print services, and related core services.
• Coordinate installation, maintenance, upgrades, lifecycle replacement, and support for desktops, laptops, servers, phones, printers, network equipment, and integrated hardware across multiple locations.
• Monitor network and system performance; troubleshoot hardware, software, and connectivity issues; analyze root cause; document corrections; and implement preventive measures.
• Direct backup, restoration, disaster recovery, cybersecurity, patching, and failover processes; perform or delegate recurring system audits and validation of backup integrity.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce departmental procedures, technical standards, inventories, diagrams, and other system documentation required for continuity, compliance, and efficient support.
• Manage or coordinate IT projects, including timelines, task assignments, vendor interactions, risk identification, communication of status, and implementation of approved changes.
• Review and approve department technology purchases within delegated authority and established procurement rules; monitor spending against budget and business needs.
• Collaborate with management, vendors, and internal stakeholders to assess needs, recommend solutions, and ensure secure, stable, and efficient technology operations.
• Maintain appropriate confidentiality, information security, and access controls for company systems, employee information, financial data, and operational systems.
• Participate in after-hours support, scheduled maintenance windows, and emergency response as business needs require.
• Perform other related duties consistent with the scope, responsibility, and purpose of the position.
Supervisory Responsibilities
• Directly supervises at least two junior IT employees or the equivalent labor allocation.
• Schedules and assigns work, monitors quality and timeliness, approves time as assigned, and ensures policy compliance.
• Provides input that is given particular weight regarding hiring, advancement, discipline, training, and performance evaluation.
• Ensures staff follow documented procedures, change controls, security practices, and support standards.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in computer systems, information technology, computer science, or a closely related technical field; equivalent combination of education and directly related experience may be considered.
• Demonstrated experience administering Microsoft Windows Server environments and enterprise desktop support.
• Experience managing Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Remote Desktop Services, Microsoft 365 administration, and PowerShell.
• Working knowledge of enterprise networking concepts, switching, routing, firewall administration, and virtualization platforms such as VMware or Proxmox.
• Demonstrated supervisory, team lead, or formal project leadership experience.
• Strong written communication, documentation, organization, and prioritization skills.
• Ability to analyze issues, exercise sound judgment, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SonicWall or comparable firewall platforms.
• Experience with backup technologies, disaster recovery testing, or cybersecurity controls.
• Experience with Windows IIS, SQL Server administration, or manufacturing/industrial systems environments.
• Experience managing vendors, purchase approvals, or departmental budgets.

Work Environment and Physical Demands
• Work is performed in office, server room, warehouse, and food manufacturing environments.
• Regular use of computers, monitors, keyboards, phones, and diagnostic tools is required.
• The role may require standing, walking, bending, climbing short ladders, reaching, and working around cabling, racks, and equipment.
• The role may require lifting, carrying, or moving technology equipment and supplies weighing up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Exposure to noise, dust, vibration, temperature changes, and moving equipment may occur in plant areas; required safety rules and PPE must be followed.
Schedule / Travel / On-Call Expectations
• This is a full-time salaried position. Work hours may vary based on operational demand.
• Occasional evening, weekend, holiday, or emergency work may be required for outages, maintenance windows, upgrades, or incident response.
• Periodic travel to company sites, buying points, warehouses, or service vendors may be required.
