Part Time Instructor - Computer Science
The Blinn College District is searching for a Part Time Instructor - Computer Science at all of our campus locations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities are listed below:
Job Summary
Perform part-time instruction within the Computer Science program of the Blinn College District
Principal Accountabilities
  • Teach Computer Science classes as assigned by the Dean, Assistant Dean, or Department Head.
  • Provide instruction for courses offered at various times, modalities, and locations.
  • Maintain regular office hours and remain accessible to students in person, electronically, and by phone.
  • Maintain current knowledge in the discipline, including contemporary teaching strategies and classroom technology.
  • Manage classroom media, equipment, and instructional resources.
  • Evaluate student performance and maintain an accurate and active gradebook.
  • Integrate, implement, and collect assessments for course outcomes and student learning outcomes.
  • Submit all required reports, documentation, and forms in a timely manner.
  • Participate annually in professional development activities.
  • Attend institutional meetings and trainings as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications/ Required Degree, License or CertificationsMaster's degree or higher with at least 18 graduate hours in computer science. All coursework must be from an accredited college or university.
Minimum Competencies
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other instructors, staff, administration and students.
  • Ability to instruct students while achieving the course learning objectives.

Preferred Qualifications
  • College teaching experience.
  • Online teaching experience.
  • Digital game design / development experience.

Preferred Competencies
In addition to a Master's degree in Computer Science, a Master's degree or 18 graduate-level hours in either Information Technology or Engineering
