Position Title: Computer Scientist
Position Location: This position on-site in Gaithersburg, MD.
Daily Responsibilities:
  • Configuring, updating, and administering systems running Linux systems.
  • Applying NIST configuration scripts to Linux systems and resolving any configuration issues so systems are compliant to NIST security requirements.
  • Maintaining security updates on Linux systems.
  • Assisting with configuring, updating, and administering Biometric Research Lab (BRL) networks and storage systems.
  • Maintaining updated BRL documentation on configurations and processes as performed.

Required Years of Experience (min):
  • Ten years of relevant experience

Required Degree:
  • Bachelor's degree from accredited college or university in Computer Science

Required Experience:
  • 10 years of general system and software engineering.
  • 5 years of experience: Configuring and administering linux operating systems (Ubuntu Pro required) including security settings. Administering and running biometric technology evaluations.
  • 10 years of experience maintaining system security configurations to meet requirements for operational environments.
