Job Title: High School STEM Teacher Location: Brave Christian High School
Reports To: High School Principal


Position Summary

Brave Christian High School is seeking a knowledgeable and faith-driven High School STEM Teacher to lead and grow our science, technology, engineering, and mathematics offerings. This position may include courses such as Physics, Chemistry, Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or other advanced STEM classes based on the candidateโ€™s expertise.

The ideal candidate brings strong content knowledge, practical problem-solving skills, and a desire to help students think critically while understanding God as the Creator and sustainer of the world.


Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Curriculum

โ— Teach assigned STEM courses at the high school level (e.g., Physics, Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, or other advanced math/science courses).

โ— Develop engaging, hands-on lessons that emphasize inquiry, experimentation, and real-world application.

โ— Design lab activities, projects, and collaborative problem-solving experiences.

โ— Integrate technology effectively into instruction.

โ— Assess student learning through projects, labs, exams, and presentations.

โ— Prepare students for college-level STEM coursework and relevant standardized exams.

Classroom & Lab Management

โ— Maintain a safe, organized lab or technical classroom environment.

โ— Ensure proper use and care of equipment, materials, and technology.

โ— Teach and enforce laboratory safety procedures.

Faith Integration

โ— Connect scientific principles with a biblical worldview in thoughtful and appropriate ways.

โ— Encourage students to explore how faith and science work together rather than in opposition.

โ— Model Christian character, humility, and integrity.

โ— Participate in chapel services, prayer, and spiritual life activities.

Student Support & Mentorship

โ— Build strong relationships with students and support their academic and career interests.

โ— Provide mentorship for students interested in STEM-related college majors or careers.

โ— Offer extra help sessions and academic support when needed.

Collaboration & School Involvement

โ— Work with fellow faculty to strengthen interdisciplinary learning.

โ— Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events.

โ— Support or sponsor extracurricular activities such as robotics teams, STEM clubs, coding clubs, or science competitions.

Qualifications

Required

โ— Bachelorโ€™s degree in a STEM-related field (Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Computer Science, or Education with STEM concentration).

โ— Valid state teaching certification (or ability to obtain certification).

โ— Personal commitment to the Christian faith and alignment with Brave Christian High Schoolโ€™s mission and statement of faith.

โ— Strong communication and classroom management skills.

Preferred

โ— Masterโ€™s degree in a STEM field or Education.

โ— Experience teaching high school STEM courses.

โ— Experience leading labs, robotics programs, or engineering projects.

โ— Experience with coding languages, CAD software, or advanced lab equipment.
