Senior Solutions Engineer

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Senior Solutions Engineer is responsible for designing, administering, and configuring complex solutions used at the enterprise, workgroup, and back-office levels of higher education IT. The Senior Solutions Engineer will be responsible for leading the support of SIS, ERP, CRM, service desk, and LMS solutions at the enterprise level; workflow and knowledge tools at the workgroup level; and databases, research computing, desktop imaging, and automation for the back-office level.

DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Reporting to the Senior Director, Solutions, the Senior Solutions Engineer works both independently and collaboratively to perform the following essential duties and responsibilities:

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Design, administer and configure complex enterprise, workgroup, and back-office solutions.
  • Assist in the leadership of the implementation of new solutions and upgrades.
  • Oversee, as well as provide, technical support and training for end-users.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for solutions.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
  • Develop and implement security policies and procedures.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and best practices.
  • Maintain business partner relationships with a portfolio of assigned organizational units to understand their needs within this responsibility domain and meet their requirements.
  • Assist with other related tasks as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in Arts or Sciences with preference for significant background in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related fields, or any combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is required.

EXPERIENCE: Minimum of three to five years of experience in higher education IT or related field.

LICENSES: A valid driver's license or equivalent alternate form of transportation is required. A valid driver's license is required to drive College-owned vehicles and the ability to be insured under the College's authorized driver's policy.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES:

  • Experience with administration and configuration of complex enterprise, workgroup, and back-office solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience leading projects and teams.

OTHER:

REQUIRED HOURS: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the College or division. Some evening and/or weekend work may be required to support campus programs and activities. Occasional requirements to work outside of standard business hours may be required to ensure timely responsiveness to our College community.

SALARY RANGE: The anticipated salary range is $82,000 - $85,000 per year. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
