About Us:
The people of Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSK) are united by a singular mission: ending cancer for life. Our specialized care teams provide personalized, compassionate, expert care to patients of all ages. Informed by basic research done at our Sloan Kettering Institute, scientists across MSK collaborate to conduct innovative translational and clinical research that is driving a revolution in our understanding of cancer as a disease and improving the ability to prevent, diagnose, and treat it. MSK is dedicated to training the next generation of scientists and clinicians, who go on to pursue our mission at MSK and around the globe.

Hours & Location
  • Location: Memorial Hospital - 1275 York Ave, New York, NY 10065
  • Shifts available:
  • Monday-Friday, 9 AM - 12 PM, 12 PM - 3 PM, 3 PM - 6 PM.
  • Saturday & Sunday: 9 AM - 1 PM.
  • Please submit an application only if you are available for the above shift for 6 consecutive months.
  • Please indicate all shifts you are available for in your application.

Volunteer Opportunity
We are seeking reliable and committed volunteers to support the Food & Nutrition Services team. Volunteers help ensure patients receive accurate meals and excellent service while supporting staff operations.
As a volunteer, you may:
  • Support patient meal rounds, interacting directly with patients
  • Assist with data collection (e.g., tray accuracy, missed meals)
  • Help assemble comfort care boxes
  • Assist with department trainings and educational activities/materials
  • Restock supplies and support pantry organization and checks
  • Support inventory and stock replenishment tasks
  • Assist with basic data entry, charts, or tracking tasks (depending on skillset)
  • Help prepare patient flyers to advertise new meals

Who We're Looking For
  • Age 16+
  • Able to commit to a weekly 3-4 hour shift for at least 6 months
  • Comfortable interacting with patients in a professional healthcare environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Friendly, compassionate, and team-oriented
  • Organized and detail-oriented
  • Computer skills are a plus

Onboarding Process (average 4-6 weeks)
  • Virtual interview (based on departmental needs and fit)
  • 3 reference checks
  • Background check & drug screen (18+ only)
  • Medical clearance (flu and other immunizations required; at applicant's expense)

To remain active, onboarding must be completed within 4-6 weeks. Applications pending for 30+ days may be closed.
