About the Role
Affinity Solutions is hiring a Principal Machine Learning Scientist to lead applied ML initiatives within our Data Foundation team. This role focuses on building, evaluating, and productionizing machine learning models that transform large, semi-structured partner data into high-quality, scalable data products used across our ad-tech and mar-tech platform.
Your Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end ML initiatives, from problem formulation and R&D through production deployment and monitoring
  • Design, train, and deploy ML models, including NLP models and LLM-based solutions, used in core data products
  • Develop and own model evaluation metrics, validation processes, and data quality measurement frameworks
  • Analyze large consumer datasets in cloud environments to identify opportunities for new ML-driven products or quality improvements
  • Replace or augment manual data processes with ML-based systems while maintaining strict quality standards
  • Optimize production ML workflows for performance, cost, and scalability
  • Mentor junior data scientists on model development, evaluation, and production best practices
  • Act as a domain expert, explaining ML methodologies, tradeoffs, and results to product, engineering, leadership, and client-facing teams

Your Qualifications
  • 5+ years of industry experience leading production ML projects end-to-end, including model deployment and maintenance in real-world systems
  • Advanced degree (Master's or PhD) in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, or a closely related quantitative field
  • Demonstrated expertise in machine learning and statistical modeling, including translating business problems into well-defined ML solutions
  • Hands-on experience with NLP use cases such as classification, entity extraction, and entity resolution
  • Experience working with modern NLP and language models (e.g., BERT-based architectures, LLMs, and classical NLP approaches)
  • Strong software engineering skills, including writing production-quality Python and SQL
  • Experience building or contributing to ML infrastructure supporting the full model lifecycle (training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring)
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms, including data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, Amazon Redshift) and data lakes (e.g., Amazon S3)
  • Ability to clearly explain ML methodologies and results to non-technical stakeholders, including clients and senior management

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with financial or transaction-level data
  • Experience with large-scale consumer or demographic datasets

Salary Range: $155,000 - $170,000
Office Hours: 9am - 5:30pm

We strongly encourage work/life balance by providing unlimited vacation days, available starting 90 days from your hire date as a team member.
